Reach 250 million eBay users and Sell your Items FAST!

Need to raise money for a charity or non-profit?

eBay Giving Works listings tend to sell at higher final prices, because buyers are more willing to purchase and often pay more for items that benefit a nonprofit. You will receive a receipt for your tax-deductible donations.

Your charity listings:

  • Receive additional visibility through specialized search functionality reserved exclusively for eBay Giving Works listings. Why have a yard or rummage sale where you can only reach a limited number of people?

  • Stand out with a distinctive charity icon in the title bar of the listing both in search results and on the view item page, and donation information is displayed in the item description.

Donors simply specify which charity or fundraising activity they are donating to and we take care of the rest.

We’ll sell the donated items on behalf of your charity or non-profit and when the event ends, we’ll send a check directly to them.

Don’t use a fundraiser that charges exorbitant prices for inexpensive items; get more out of your event and give people the opportunity to donate items that they don’t even use!

eBay Giving Works: Selling to Benefit a Nonprofit Organization

eBay Giving Works is the dedicated program for charity listings on eBay.

You can list an item on eBay and donate between 10% and 60% of its final sale price to a certified nonprofit organization (there is a $10 minimum donation if the item sells)..

eBay Giving Works listings stand out with a charity icon , and donation information is displayed in the item description, instilling buyer confidence and trust. Plus, charity listings receive additional visibility through specialized search functionality. So, eBay Giving Works listings on average sell more often with more bids and at higher final prices. And, you receive a receipt for your tax-deductible donation.

eBay Charity or Fundraising Listings:

Charitable fundraising is a highly regulated area subject to numerous state and federal laws. eBay allows donate-liquidate-ebay-it.com to list items and collect proceeds (in whole or in part) on behalf of charity either with eBay Giving Works (the dedicated program for charity listings on eBay) or without eBay Giving Works (as long as the listings meet our specific guidelines for charitable solicitations). Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

  • Listing cancellation
  • Limits on account privileges
  • Account suspension
  • Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
  • Loss of PowerSeller status

Guidelines for eBay Giving Works listings:

eBay has selected MissionFish, a licensed nonprofit service of the Points of Light Foundation, to serve as the dedicated solution provider for eBay Giving Works. MissionFish’s valuable service and support includes: powering the nonprofit directory for eBay Giving Works; verifying that nonprofits are eligible for this program; collecting and disbursing sellers’ donations; providing sellers with tax receipts; and tracking donations online.

Sellers may only list with eBay Giving Works if they:

  • Register with MissionFish and maintain an account in good standing.
  • Agree to donate to at least 10% of the final sale price or $10 – whichever is greater – to a member nonprofit organization if the item sells.
  • Note: The $10 minimum donation requirement does not apply to nonprofits selling items on their own behalf (“Direct Selling”).
  • Select PayPal or credit card as one of the buyer payment options.
  • Note: The nonprofit that you select has the right to request an item cancellation if they prefer not to benefit from your listing.

Guidelines for non-eBay Giving Works charity listings:

  • Sellers may only list items for charity without eBay Giving Works if they:
  • Are soliciting on behalf of recognized tax-deductible charitable organizations (for example, 501(c)(3) status or equivalent with the IRS).
  • Receive advance written consent for the solicitation from the benefiting nonprofit.
  • To verify you received permission, you must include a scanned copy of the consent in your listing. It must appear with the nonprofit’s letterhead, signed by an officer and include the nonprofit’s tax-deductibility status as well as your name or eBay User ID, dates of event/listings, and donation amount (percentage of the final sale price).

The Donation Amount

Every eBay Giving Works item that sells will raise money for the benefiting nonprofit. Exactly how much the nonprofit receives can vary depending on circumstances of the particular listing.

When donate-liquidate-ebay-it.com lists an item through Giving Works and donates between 10 and 70% of the final sale price to a nonprofit:

  • The donation amount = donation percent( 10-60%) X final sale price;
    • OR $10 (whichever is greater).
  • MissionFish deducts $3 + 2.9% from the donation
  • donate-liquidate-ebay-it.com is responsible for all eBay and PayPal fees

Example: donate-liquidate-ebay-it.com lists a painting and donates 60% of the final sale price to support Nonprofit B. The painting sells for $100.00.
